Project Overview

A medical technology startup required functional prototypes of their device housing for testing and clinical trials. The parts needed to be strong, biocompatible, and accurately represent the final injection-molded product.

Manufacturing Approach

Stereolithography (SLA) with biocompatible resin was the ideal choice for this application. SLA produces highly detailed, smooth-surfaced parts with excellent dimensional accuracy, perfect for medical device prototypes requiring precise fit and finish.

Technical Specifications

  • Material: Nylon 12 (biocompatible grade)
  • Wall thickness: 2mm minimum
  • Snap-fit features requiring flexibility
  • Sterilization compatible

Outcome

Delivered 25 functional prototypes that performed flawlessly through testing protocols. The client successfully completed their testing phase.
